Athanassios Molassiotis
Professor at the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and Director of the Laboratory of Arboriculture at AUTh.
Professor at the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and Director of the Laboratory of Arboriculture at AUTh. He has served as a member of Committees and Boards of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and the Greek Foundation for Research and Innovation.
A member of the editorial board of scientific journals, he has been a reviewer in various national and European programs. He has developed long-term collaborations with Research Institutes and Centers, both Greek and international, as well as productive entities. As a coordinator or team member, he has participated in over 40 funded research programs in the last five years. He has also participated in numerous conferences/seminars/workshops abroad and in Greece, delivering numerous lectures at universities, institutes, and various scientific events. His research interests focus on the physiology of fruit trees and the biology of their fruits, with an emphasis on the application of high-performance technologies.
His research team consists of 2 postdoctoral researchers, 5 doctoral candidates, and 8 master’s students. His research work includes over 200 presentations at national and international conferences and 111 published papers in high-impact scientific journals. He is included in the Stanford University list of top scientists worldwide.
